increase injection pressure om605 - Repetitio - 10-26-2015

Hi,
since i want to keep my stock elements (6mm) and max out the pump to it´s maximum i thought about increasing the injection pressure for shorter injection times to lower my egt´s. Is that possible at a w202 250 td? And how can it be done? Via Remap or manual?

RE: increase injection pressure om605 - barrote - 10-26-2015

only thing u can do in that istallation , is incresse injector pop pressure, from 135BAR to what else u consider to be a good thing for u...
usually people use 150BAR. but i´m not so sure of benefits.... despite i have mine in that range too.

if u have EGT problems with a 6mm pump, something is very wrong, that can only mean 2 things engine is running outside timing or u have massive EGP ... if i were u i would start that road...

u still using the EDC pump?

yes still edc pump with resistor and bigger turbo. I will wait for the remap, that might also help in egt´s. I also still have the stock exhaust, i´ll remove it completely and check egt´s again Smile Thanks barrote!

what kind of EGT´s are u talking about? i found stange cause usually is coolant temp that people complain .....

RE: increase injection pressure om605 - Repetitio - 10-26-2015

i reach like 700°C fast. After full accelerating 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. Isn´t that high? Big Grin

RE: increase injection pressure om605 - barrote - 10-26-2015

no ... high is when u reach 1000º Hill climbing ....
yes is a kind of high for what a 6mm pump can do , something is wrong there...
check your camshaft timing , and pump timing(theres no reason to use the pump too much advancedaround 13º/14º is ok)... if all is ok then u have massive back pressure , u should find another turbo hehhe or exaust hhehe
this is my opinion and only my opinion... take as it is
regards
Ps: i´m assuming u have a decent charge cooler !!! clean intake dada those things

+1 for much too high backpressure

My W202 250TD sometimes even had backpressure  caused overheating with still stock engine and stock exhaust.
Plan for a 76mm exhaust with free flow mufflers , that did help....

Increasing the pop pressure on the injectors will alter the timing, standard turbo injectors are 135 bar, I believe for certain pumps setting them to 140 bar works (but I am guessing the pump timing isn't stock).
