parting 240d - Edian727 - 12-16-2015 My girlfriend totaled my 240 today . bald tires and ice dont work well together. ran into the side of a 3/4 ton chevy. its a 1980 240d, manual trans, has a 3.07 diff. out of a 74 450se, 2nd gen w126 brakes, runs good, was rebuilt 70k ago, have receipts. stock engine, never got to turbo it . its mostly there and not nearly perfect, so if you need anything just ask, probably be a month of so before it go to the wrecking yard. I'd like to keep the trans. and associated parts, but for the right price id sell. also have a w115 240 manifold, a w123 wagon front sway bar and matching springs, and a stock egr om617 turbo manifold. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-06-2016 Okay so Im trying to raise a little money in the next week so i can put 1000$ down on a 58 180d. If its not listed just ask 2.4l diesel 4-cyl(om616) 350$ obo rebuilt by RAM engines in spokane at 247,000, almost 330 on it now 4-speed, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, shifter, linkage, pedal assembly, rebuilt master and new slave cylinder, front half of the driveline, and brake reservoir that feeds the clutch, all for 450$ obo. i would like to sell this as a package to someone converting their 300d or 240d from auto to manual. 3.07 rear differential out of 74 450sel, and rear driveline half. this litterally swapped into the 240d and is a stronger differential. 50$ obo all 4 doors or just the manual window parts for 100$ obo manual climate control 90 obo or 45 obo if you wanna take it out. 2nd gen w126 front brakes, it'll be the whole spindle in one piece(per side) 70$ obo you need at least 15's for these, but other wise bolt right on and do wonders for its braking ability. I'd sell the car whole for 650$ obo. in a few weeks in sending the body to pull and save, this stuff will stay in my garage though. also got a w123 wagon sway bar, and the springs out of said car id sell for a 100 obo Im always willing to ship for forum members as long you you pay for shipping. id be willing to deliver within a few hundred miles of spokane, washington also, or to tacoma on the 16th or 17th. RE: parting 240d - Greazzer - 02-07-2016 Hopefully no one got hurt. That's the main deal. Insurance, repairs, et cet can always take care of headaches like this. I need the front section of the DS. Is it 23"+? If so, I will take it. I understand you want to keep things as kits. So, if you break it up, I need that front section. Thanks in advance RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-07-2016 noone was hurt luckily, just the car. well i may seperate the trans stuff as the guy who wants the motor wants the flywheel too. he says that all the merc diesel are balanced with the flywheel on.... i thought that was only some 5's and the 4's were neutral but whatever if he willing to pay another 100 to get the flywheel the driveshaft section is yours sir. RE: parting 240d - Greazzer - 02-08-2016 Pending the final details, et cet., can you please verify that the front section of the DS is at least 23" long, please? Thanks in advance. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-11-2016 It is 25 from the flange to the end. I'll post pictures after work tonight RE: parting 240d - Greazzer - 02-12-2016 That will work ! PLEASE let me know when you're ready / able to sell it. Thanks in advance. RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 02-15-2016 If you have the 3 twist knob HVAC control, I need the black plastic housing piece that pop rivets to the firewall. Some scoundrel stole a cheap radio and destroyed the plastic housing in the process. It's too badly broken to try to repair. You have to remove the center console, side panels and the heater controls to get the thing out in one piece. Hopefully you have it. Can you post up a picture of the dash center section? Glad no one was injured in the crash. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-15-2016 sorry greazer ben a crazy week, i will send it out tommorow, ill pm you and we can discuss the rest. again sorry. rdavisinva, ill look, get some pics tommorow, center is in ok shape dont know how that piece will be though. no ones ripped through her though everything including the stereo was stock so it should be good. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-15-2016 i also have a spring compressor for mercedes springs, this is the cheap one off ebay for 130$ id sell it for 50$ obo and a ball joint tool for w123/126(may work for some other models too) that goes in a press. works fantatistic, and has the parts for pressing in and out. id sell it for 50$ obo sold the flywheel with the engine so the trans stuff is available seperatly, trans for 150 obo linkage and shifter for 50, its gonna need new bushing and the reverse lockout doesnt work pedal assembly id sell for 75. i do also have the master and slave and the line between them but id like to sell that with the trans or the pedal assembly. i sold the doors, engine and flywheel, trunk lid, and the windshield so far. amazling a lot of people interested in these cars, very glad as i hate to see good parts crushed. RE: parting 240d - Greazzer - 02-16-2016 PMs x 2 sent for the DS (1st PM) then (2nd) for the spring compressor. RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 02-20-2016 Do you have the part requested in post 8? RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-22-2016 sorry been so long, pulled the center console and took a couple pics. is the piece thats pop riveted to the ducting and goes across the face of the 3 dials what your looking for? im sure i have what your looking for pretty certain noone else has ben in this far since it was being assembled. RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 02-23-2016 Yes... thanks so much for responding! It's the black plastic piece pop-riveted to the firewall. It holds the 3 mechanical heater controls in place and stabilizes the other controls. I also need a pair of rear calipers and the piece that bolts onto the firewall that the accelerator linkage pivots on. If you have these I can send you a paypal payment. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 02-24-2016 i can you all all of that. Ill send you the pieces i have left of the throttle linkage but ill just include as Ive seen more then a few different ones. I'll shoot you a pm thanks RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 03-07-2016 Parts all arrived in good order, thanks again. A piece got broken and hoping you have it, see the picture... RE: parting 240d - EmJay - 03-08-2016 Plastic weld that piece back on! Easy with a soldering iron. RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 03-08-2016 (03-08-2016, 07:39 PM)EmJay Plastic weld that piece back on! Easy with a soldering iron. It takes so much work to take that piece in and out that there is no way we would risk future failure due to a repair. Am going to replace it. RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 03-09-2016 i dont think i have this part. were is it exactly? my car only had a single slider for the heat and one for the draw. ill post a pic of it. this is the slider for the vent control, the one in the dash isnt the same either only a single slide too RE: parting 240d - turbojeep - 03-12-2016 Would you happen to have a good alternator tensioner bolt? RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 03-14-2016 sorry all the acesories went with the motor. RE: parting 240d - turbojeep - 03-14-2016 It's cool, thanks. RE: parting 240d - rdavisinva - 03-20-2016 Well our center control is slightly different, but different enough that the piece we got from you won't interchange. The center part we have is "90 412 09 127". I thought they were all the same. The part from your 240D is "90 412 02 27 7". If you still have your HVAC climate controls and coolant valves, can I buy them from you? RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 03-21-2016 yea i can do that, might be a souiple days but ill pm you RE: parting 240d - Jooseppi Luna - 04-23-2016 Do you have an early-style hazard switch? The really big red one that looks like this? RE: parting 240d - Edian727 - 04-23-2016 dont have the car anymore but my hazard button was the smaller one with only a triangle. |
