are ITM timing chains any good? - ponkokanada - 02-02-2016

I'm looking to replace a timing chain on my 400k mile neglected om603. I have not verified the stretch yet (the harmonic balancer indicator dial rusted off) but I'm almost positive it is severe based on the engine's behavior.

I checked ebay and saw a bunch of timing chains quoted to fit om601/602/603 made by ITM for less than $40.

Has anyone had experience with these?

I know a timing chain is the last thing to cheap out on but the engine it's going into does not have much life left in it so I figured it's still better than the original chain that's on it.

what do you guys think?

I wuld say exact opposite, that original 400k chains are better that chinese crap. Anyway at that mileage stretch should be like half way to limit.
