91 600sel diff question - EmJay - 03-26-2016 Hey guys i have a quick question for the benz gurus. Last week I found a 91 600sel at my local wrecking yard with the v12 motor. It was not the AMG model. What rear end did these have, and will it bolt in to a w123 300d? RE: 91 600sel diff question - NZScott - 03-26-2016 No rear ends post '85 will bolt into a W123 RE: 91 600sel diff question - EmJay - 03-27-2016 What about the transmission, is it worth anything to anyone? Rated to handle 500 HP of the v12. I didn't pull it yet, just wondering before it gets crushed RE: 91 600sel diff question - NZScott - 03-27-2016 Yea think they're still a 722.3 so the slushbox lovers would be after it RE: 91 600sel diff question - DiseaselWeasel - 03-31-2016 Depends on the year. Early ones have 722.3, later ones got 722.6. 722.3 on V-engine doesn't fit inline-engine. Only 722.6 has replaceable bellhousing. V8/V12 722.3 gearbox has fixed v-engine bellhousing. RE: 91 600sel diff question - NZScott - 03-31-2016 Ah yes, good point... RE: 91 600sel diff question - EmJay - 04-04-2016 Ok so it is worthless for us here. All good. Too bad the seats are too wide, they are in fantastic shape (last that I saw) |
