Hi from Austria - nanno - 05-04-2016 Hey Guys, just wanted to quickly say "hi". Been following this page for a while and trying to gain a deeper understanding of mechanical-injection-pumps and turbo-ing. So far my turbo-experience has been limited to petrol engines, more specifically to motorcycles with turbo-chargers for quarter-mile usage... (If you're curious check out my blog at http://greasygreg.blogspot.co.at ) Now it would be somewhat rude to pull a trailer behind a 200D, which has to breath all by itself, wouldn't it? Now you can't live within a 100 mile radius of this place and not take a shot in front of the town's sign, right? Actually this isn't my first Benz, I used to have a high-mileage 190D, also with the same naturally aspirated 2 litre engine. Now I started into looking at diesel-pumps for certain Mercedes Vitos and as I see it, this might be the way forward... As I am quite happy to build and weld my own inlet- and exhaust-manifold, I guess that's what I'll do, once I've found a suitable fuel pump. Cheers, Greg RE: Hi from Austria - MFSuper90 - 05-08-2016 That's a real town?!? Hahaha, that's so awesome. Welcome to the forum! RE: Hi from Austria - raysorenson - 05-12-2016 No. Fucking. Way. Cool car. Is that an OM601? RE: Hi from Austria - nanno - 05-16-2016 Hell. Fucking. Yeah. Real town in the middle of nowhere. And yes, stock OM601, approx. 150,000 miles and just as slow. (But currently I am working on getting my turbo-dragbike ready for a race, but that should be done by the end of this week and then I can look into ways on how to speed up the trailer towing process!) |
