Where is the best place to tap an oil gauge sender, and oil pressure switch on the 606?

Oil filter housing. You can remove a plug on the bottom part and thread some fittings in there.

I had thought about there but wasn't sure if I'd get a good reading. Thats the one with the 6mm allen keyed blanking screw, towards the bottom of the filter housing?

Yes, that's the one! I've used it for pressure and works fine.

Removed the bung, Drilled it out, got half way through running in the tap, and the head came away from the threads.
Looks like I'll have to pay for that adapter after all!!

Why tap it? you could have just fitted a M10x1 sensor.

Om, quick update. The thread inside that bung is actually M12x1.5. I bought a ⅛ 27 NPT tap and managed to pull the head off the threaded section on the bung, so now have to order an M12x1.5 to ⅛ 27 NPT adapter.
Hoss, when I ordered the gauge, there wasn't an M12x1.5 adapter in the Kit. There was an M12x1 and M10x1 but not the one I need.
