Alternator upgrade options - martureo - 06-18-2016
I've got a 603 being put in a s123. Because of the fitment I'm going to run an electric radiator fan as the primary. The current alternator is 70amp. The fans I'm looking at say they max out at a 22 amp draw.
Should I be looking for a higher amperage alternator? What's the minimum I can get away with?

I honestly wouldn't worry about it, is their other electric item that you will be using that will draw 48amps?
Especially if you set up your electric fan to be controlled by a thermostat, because then it will probably only kick on every once in a while

it's cheaper to diagnose the problem: get a voltmeter and see if battery potential sags after using the fan.
