OM617 turbo outlet flange - R-3350 - 07-20-2016 i recently got a 6CM housing HE221W and just wanted to verify that the outlet on the stock Garrett t3 to the down pipe is a 3" v-band flange. also if anyone has a HE221W how did you end up adapting the compressor discharge to the intake manifold? RE: OM617 turbo outlet flange - awsrock - 07-20-2016 I have an HX30 and the outlet was a special Holset Vband that was 2.75 inch. My 603 stock downpipe is only 2.5 or so.. RE: OM617 turbo outlet flange - NiTeC - 07-20-2016 the He221 uses a smaller v-band on the compressor outlet that the Hx30...the 30 uses the same elbow as the 35, 351, 40 etc. I used a 2.5" downpipe with my 221...my exhaust guy made the flange and used a gasket in between...I used the original Cummins clamps for both the compressor and turbine outlets... you can kinda see the compressor outlet here: and the turbo outlet here: RE: OM617 turbo outlet flange - R-3350 - 07-20-2016 i have an exhaust flange for the HE221W that i got a local shop to make for me its a 3" v-band that has nothing restricting the turbine outlet or the waste gate its just a 5/8" strip of 1/2" mild steel with the 4 bolt pattern and the v-band. i was wondering what the flange is on the flex pipe going to the stock t3 garrett is. i have heard its a 3" v-band that reduces to the 2.5 DP. if not ill just get an adapter. as for the compressor im not sure that elbow will clear my fender wall i need something that makes a pretty tight 90. |
