W210 M104 flywheel question - Deplore - 03-13-2017 Hey guys, I'm trying to do my research on converting my US spec 1997 E320 with M104.995 to manual trans. After research, I found out that the 6 speed manual from a M111 engine bolts straight up. SLK230 or C230 kompressor. Those are easily found here. The only question is, what flywheel do I use? This will be a road car, no racing, no modding...so a dual mass is ok. So I guess my question is, will the flywheel from the M111 bolt straight up to M104 and is it balanced and contains the 60-2 teeth for the CPS? Any advice appreciated. RE: W210 M104 flywheel question - Deplore - 03-24-2017 Anyone? I found posts elsewhere supporting the hypothesis that the M111 manual trans (flywheel, et al) from a manual car (SLK230, C230 kompressor manual) is a direct bolt on a M104 car? RE: W210 M104 flywheel question - erx - 03-24-2017 (03-24-2017, 01:22 AM)Deplore Anyone? I found posts elsewhere supporting the hypothesis that the M111 manual trans (flywheel, et al) from a manual car (SLK230, C230 kompressor manual) is a direct bolt on a M104 car? All older I4-I6 engines have the same bolt pattern for gearbox and flywheel and I belive all newer M111's have 60-2 teeth. For example M111 gearbox fit to OM606 also. Older M111's on w124 and w202 maybe till 96 have two big timing marks(one with magnet) not 60-2. I recently had a project where I swapped M111 to OM605 so I have compared them a little. First we used M111 box and flywheel on OM605 but now we have 722.6 because our M111 was 2.0 100kw 5 speed and it has small clutch so it started to slip. I belive 2.3K has bigger clutch. RE: W210 M104 flywheel question - philip28888 - 09-23-2020 Rennsport so a flywheel it needs 3 segments instead of 2 ran on the M111 (on the 5 speeds anyway 6 speed might be different). I don't the conversion but used a box with a smf (717.411) had to put the flywheel on a lathe and take off the width of the flex plate and weld the 2 together at tdc. Not sure if it can be done with a dmf |
