He221W for this composition - addi.bigg - 05-23-2017

I'm considering changing for a turbo to pull from lower RPM.
I have the following composition:
  • OM605
  • OM662 mechanical pump
  • 7,5 Dieselmeken elements
  • Adjusted fuel quantity 85-90ccm (100-110ccm?)
  • Bigger intercooler, re-routed intake pipes
Actually it runs with a KKK K14, at 1.5bar but smoking. From 2k it is useable but pulls from 3k.
I want to keep the original exhaust manifold with an adapter with the necessary flange. Somehow like Tobulus solved on his car.

I don't want to cut the chassis and would like to keep the turbo position as low as the original one.

HE221W would be a good choice for the above mentioned criterias? Would that be enough (pressure and air quantity) for both mentioned fuel quantities? Any other recommendations?

I have an HE221W fitted to my C250TD (posted about it in the Projects forum).

I'm still running the stock fueling elements. Boost starts at about 1800 rpm, with full boost at about 2500 rpm.

You're going to have some difficulty with the placement of the turbo (unless yours is left-hand drive; the steering box is in the way with our right-hand drive cars).

You can't go wrong with an HE221W if you're looking for quick spool.

What quantity do you use? I'm left hand driven so no problem with the exhaust.

Quantity of boost? Running 1.6 bar presently (at the intake manifold). But it's boosted more than 2 bar on one or two occasions when I was setting my boost controller.

I meant fuel quantity. Original one?

Original fueling elements, but with a Stage 2 remap from seanyt. Don't know how his map affects fueling.

I have a stock OM605.960 in a W202 and just happen to have an He221w sitting idle (as well as a GT2256v and an A/R 80 T2 flanged garrett of unknown origin....)
Can i ask what you did for flange adapter from the stock manifold to the T2 He221 Holset?
Did you have Much difficulty with the drain and oil supply?
I should try and find your thread I guess...:0)
Cheers

FYI - I cannot get any of those photobucket images to open at all. It says you need to upgrade your account to enable 3rd party hosting.

You have to right click 'open in new tab/window' to see them. Photobucket is in the midst of comitting suicide!

Doesn't matter what I do to them; they will not open.
