w124 diff options - zenins - 06-21-2017 Hello! I've been driving my om606 w124 for couple of month and I've had numerous problems with slipping clutches, broken transmissions etc. Now it has 6speed w210 cdi manual box, cdi flywheel (solid mass converted) and pressure plate with ceramic clutch disc and its barely holding... But now i've got another issue - diff gears shattered in pieces. The diff is stock w124 from 3.0td 2.87 or smthing like that - don't remember exact numbers but it doesn't matter. So my question is - are there any stronger diffs that can be fittet plug&play or with minor fabrication (gear ratio is not really important at this point, just need diff that will hold - temporary) ? p.s. please dont judge my english too hard... RE: w124 diff options - hents99 - 06-24-2017 W124 big differential is next step... From 162kw versions using bigger diff. You probably need shorter axle shafts and shorter rear propeller shaft. But I think that overhauled stock size diff with good lubricant will survive. RE: w124 diff options - benzguy - 06-24-2017 You can get the big differential from a 300CE it has a 3.27 ratio or 93,94,95 E320 it has a 2.65 ratio RE: w124 diff options - zenins - 06-26-2017 Thanks for replys! So now I've got another question - could w124 "big" diff be the same as w210 3.0td diff? I have one in garage but propshaft wont fit - it should be shorter and flange is bigger, looks like it fits with stock axle shafts, haven't tryend yet though... |
