Ìt is same as w124.

No I have one from a W124 and the outer shape it’s different so it won’t fit in the cluster

Hmm. I replaced in my 124 tach with one from 190. I thought it might work in revers.

Anjay1 let me ask you this there’s a member offering one from a 190D 2.2 but it only has two pins in the back do you remember if the tachometer you used from the 190 has two or 3 pins in the back? I know W124 diesels tachometers have 3 pins in the back and gassers have two

I don't remember details because it was few years back. But I didn't have any problem installing it. As a matter of fact the failed one from 124 I installed back to 190 to have complete dashboard.
I don't know about gasser tach if it is different.
