FS: Mercedes OM602 2.9L 5 Cylinder Diesel Engine - Merc4x4T1 - 05-21-2018 In 2013 I purchased a near new (10 running hrs) UL90/100 Unimog OM602.948 engine with the intention of installing it in my Mercedes T1 310 4x4 Van. That Van, with its gas engine, has now been sold. This engine required some adaptation to install in vehicles other than a Unimog. A front sump T1 oil pan with associated deep pickup tube is fitted, A Van specific downward facing oil filter housing with associated oil cooler and lines has been installed, T1 Van motor mounts fitted, dip stick relocated to the standard front engine cover location. These adaptations have been done by an Independent Mercedes Specialist Shop locally (Norwescan Motors). Engine installation physically is essentially a drop in for a Mercedes 310 Van, which used this engine primarily. The 2.9L diesel and the 2.3L gas engines share the same bellhousing bolt pattern so 711.xxx manual transmissions are a direct bolt ups. The engine currently has the Unimog flywheed fitted, which is larger and heavier than the standard part. This will necessitate either using Unimog pressure plate and clutch disc or changeover to the standard parts from T1 Vans, GWagen and other applications. Glow plugs are there but will need a relay/controller. Engine has been run up by Norwescan Motors and myself and runs perfectly, not surprisingly. I also have available a new GWagen 290GDT oil pan and the original upward facing oil filter housing and oil cooler lines that came with the engine. Optionally avalable with the engine is a near new (again 10 running hrs) Aerodyne/Aerocharger Variable Vane Turbocharger and custom exhaust manifold. This sophisticated turbo will produce a substantial increase in power and if the boost is kept conservative (i.e. 15 psi) the engine will maintain its known longevity. The turbo is a 53 Series 143/300 trim unit and can support up to a maximum of 160 hp in a diesel engine application. Custom turbo plumbing, intercooler fabrication, IP ALDA addition etc. will be necessary for Turbo application Location: Vancouver, BC Canada OM602 2.9L NA Engine Price: $3800 USD Engine Price with Turbocharger: $4500 USD Plus shipping and any USA customs duty.
