injectors NA35X NA36X - oel_brenner - 11-06-2009 anyone know the differences between these two ? NA35X = OM603.97x (3.5L) NA36X = OM603.96x (3.0L) are the pre chambers the same ? also mention of some head version issues here.. http://bit.ly/32D8M http://bit.ly/32D8M RE: injectors NA35X NA36X - ForcedInduction - 11-06-2009 Bore, stroke, crankshaft, rods, prechambers, injectors and IP governor tuning. All OM601/2/3 engines from 1989 got the angled injector upgrade. Older engines can be converted to the new prechambers and the cylinder heads are interchangeable but the angled injectors use a different thread pitch to screw into the prechamber collar. The angle increases air swirl and improves air/fuel mixture. RE: injectors NA35X NA36X - oel_brenner - 11-07-2009 so the injector sits in the pre-chamber at an angle? or the entire head is different ? (injector/pre-chamber seat is cast at angle) RE: injectors NA35X NA36X - ForcedInduction - 11-07-2009 The prechamber. The 3.5L engine's head is different, only in that they use the much better 20 or 22 casting instead of the weak 14/17/18 casts. It will bolt to a 3.0L block without any modifications that I'm aware of. I know several people have done a 3.0 retrofit to a rod-bent W140 using the 3.5L's head.
