Once upon a time a fellow had a running 300td. Then said vehicle decided it was going to 'upgrade' itself to a three piece camshaft. The fellow tried to talk the old wagon out of it, but she insisted. And so... She died. The fellow was sad for a bit. Then he decided to do a camshaft transplant. He found a nice low miles donor, but it was attached to an engine out of a sedan. The fellow wrestled with the seemingly moral implications of deleting the wagons (aging yet functional) SLS system in order to accommodate the spry 300d engine. This also made the fellow sad. He then said to himself "what if I flip the sls pump around fabrikobbled a pulley, some brackets and ran a longer v-belt on the power steering pump?" Then he said to himself "I'm a simple man, and this involves math relating to gear ratios.... I'll need help."
My user name is Glitchybytes. This is my story and my first post on this forum. I've read a bit about sls deletion. I've read a bit about w124 tandem pumps. I've not heard anything regarding the conversion of the stock sls pump to belt drive. So, I thought I'd run this up the flag pole and see who salutes. Thought this subject might induce the production of some spit balls. Thanks are given in advance for any attention this thread receives!

Would be easier to use an electric PS pump or even better just get a tandem pump. To get the pulley to spin at 1/2 crank RPM like I assume the head drive is, you'd need a giant pulley or reduction gearing...neither of which are practical

Good point. Has anyone had any success with running a tandem pump on a w123?

Run 2 PS pumps maybe (one for PS one for SLS)? If the PS pump is compatible with SLS fluid and can deliver enough pressure.
Or adapt a S124 tandem pump, would need a custom pulley to fit the V belt

So you've put a om603 in a w123? Or something else?
It's not clear from your post what your trying to do.
