US-Spec 300TD Wagon in France - vstef_is - 11-18-2020
Hello everyone!
It has been well over 7 (seven) years since I have visited this amazing forum! And can I just say how much I missed this. Oh and a good old w123.
Back in the day when I was much younger I used to have a 300D (European spec so non turbo sadly) that I had to sell to finish up buying my very first apartment. TODAY I just sold THAT apartment that has caused me to part with the Mercedes! And a few years back I moved to France (in the Paris suburbs).... and drumroll.... I bought another Mercedes! (The good kind, cause I also have a w124 but it's just not as nice as a w123)
In this case a s123 - 300TD TurboDisesel wagon brought to France in the early nineties from the US. The lovely old lady you see in the pics is pretty standard for a US model - she has been manufactured in the last days of December 1981 as a 1982 model year.
I will let some pictures to do the talking and will update you with things I have ALREADY done and so many others I still need to address.
For the moment these are the pictures in the classified - before I went to see and buy her this summer.

Dreamy. Love the color combo. Realy, for me, the W123 with the OM617 turbo is my favorite car of all time. Pitty most of the UK cars have tiny petrol engines or no turbo.
