1984 300D TURBO DIESEL Sleeper - sneakystd - 10-25-2023

Just bought a 1984 300D Turbo Diesel in NE USA.

150K miles on the clock.

So far I have deleted both the EGR and ALDA. I feel I am getting more power in the low end but not a lot of increase in black smoke. I am able to do minor burnouts Big Grin

What is the next logical component to upgrade? I want to create custom cold air intake. I have also seen available turbo and injection pump upgrades but those are a bit out of budget at the moment.

Any tips on adjusting the gas pedal linkage? The car really has no go until about 3/4 to full throttle.

I intend to keep this thread updated with photos as the car progresses! Cheers!

It *should* already have the best cold air intake right from factory

I believe you left hand drive folk have a bushing on the firewall that wears causing excessive slop in the throttle linkage.

Nice car, just needs the cut and polish finished Wink

I believe you are correct on the worn out bushing for the throttle linkage. Looks absolutely terrible. I am curious as to how the linkage is not binding up. Will be thoroughly going over it and replacing the bushing.

I will be putting the stock intake back on after purchasing a new filter and filter housing bushings.

I fixed the linkage with a new assembly. Not OEM but I modified it to operate smoothly.
