Water/methanol injection
Water/methanol injection
Awesome I'll have to check them out after my manufacturing processes class tonight
(03-29-2012, 06:56 PM)dust Sassparilla, check out home depot for hose. I am using their 3/8 hose for the pre-pump on my kit right now. They should have 1/4" hose as well. I broke my first push to connect after 5 years of use and probably 20+ removals.

All I need for my basic setup at the moment is tubing, which I plan on buying this weekend.
Can do, hopefully I get it done during the week along with all my other projects
FINALLY!!! Got all of my parts for now, sort of. Tonight I plan on cleaning my non-egr manifolds, and possibly removing turbo + manifolds from engine, and then tomorrow will be install of new manifolds and w/m injection, along with egt probe/sensor/gauge. Hopefully all goes well.
Just curious where everybody mounts their pumps and routes their lines? I think I may mount the pump in the engine compartment since currently there is more room there than the trunk, and possibly just route the lines under the seats/carpet and stuff. We'll see, I'm sure I'll figure something out
There's a nice free area on the passenger wheel well for the pump, close to the battery too. A few screws there and route the lines to the trunk. Or I guess where ever the tank is
That's about where I was planning on mounting it. Hopefully the tubing I got holds up to the pressure, I think its rated for about 40 psi less than the pump is set at, so hopefully it doesn't explode lol
Okay I got the pump mounted, but wtf!?!? There seems to be no easy way to route the lines to the trunk . I wanted to run them under the floor/carpeting along with the vacuum lines, on the passenger side of the car, but then discovered there's no place for it to come through the firewall, (which drilling a hole can easily solve). NEXT I couldn't figure out how in the hell to get the line from the trunk into the passenger compartment, so I decided maybe I'll try finding some place to route it under the car, and then I crawled under there and found there's no easy way to route it under there either!!!!
Grrrrrrrr............ I think I'm gonna go to the hardware store and get a couple things I need and try again later
The vac lines for the trunk lock go along the passenger floor then go up over top of the fuel tank.
You can run your supply line next to them?. Also, the hole in the firewall by the passenger side
I tried to route it along with the vac lines, but had trouble getting the tubing behind the seat and then up over the fuel tank. I tried both directions, going from trunk to passenger compartment and passenger compartment to trunk. Is there some sort of trick to it? I think I'll probably try again later when its not quite as warm out lol
Well, I actually cut the trunk vac lines and spliced them into my water/meth supply. So can't say for sure.
You could maybe use a fishtape or possibly cut one of the trunk lines and use it as like a leader. Try to figure out how to get it back in though
I'm sure I will think of something, I usually do
Gonna finish getting this all set up tomorrow, I have the pump installed, and the injector is now in the turbo outlet, so all I need to do is hook up the wiring for the pump and route the line from the trunk up to the pump and then it will all be good.
Can anybody tell me what kind of performance increase I can expect from running 3 gallons per hour? I'm just gonna end up using washer fluid for now so I need to go find some for cold weather.
Hey we want pics SAS! Lol thought I'd revive this thread.
I think greazzer did this too maybe? I'll have to hunt a minute.
Alright I'll post some shortly

Sorry for the delay in getting you pictures guys, our home internet is being dumb so I can't use my computer, and my phone is being dumb every time I try to use it to upload images. I'll try to figure something out tonight though
internet is finally working again!!! I'll post some pictures within an hour or so
i think if i were plumbing a water injection setup i would add another nozzle for misting the intercooler. it's the same cure for the same problem!

So I'm pretty sure I posted these in project thread because I found them on my computer from last November, either that or I totally spaced on it and forgot to upload them when I took them lol
Here's a picture of the pump, mounted on the passenger side fender well
and the nozzle, going straight into the outlet side of the turbo. I believe its a 3gph nozzle, although I think it could probably be upped to 4-5gph
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

I could probably use a higher flowing nozzle, but for now it's alright. I have it disconnected at the moment though until I find my pressure switch and plumb it in, as well as a spot for the switch in the cabin. I had been using one of my old vegetable oil switches mounted to the kick panel just under the ignition, but they are now being used for a starter kill switch and reverse light switch (had to do something with the wires after the manual swap)

Make the time to set it up for straight water at least, Greazzer attributes his restored compression to just running water on his NA 617

I'll get around to it eventually, I just need to get bored enough first lol
Love to see more info/pics on this.
Intending to put in budget water injection on my om606 - wont use fancy devils own however as I find they are far too expensive.
