Here is the relisting of that 1997...
http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2619016094.html
It has a new problem.
CLK with CLK rims. Rims and tires, $400 quoted. I might pick em up. Worth it? Says they are clean

240D I think I posted recently. 4spd $1750
http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2625950686.html
1985 Euro 280SE $4995
http://houston.craigslist.org/ctd/2623352637.html
I just found this, wondering if I should be rushing out to get it or if its a pass?? Im willing to get rid of my 240 to make room for this since it is in much nicer condition
http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/2687613034.html
The w123 240 that I have though is pretty beat up, and has $500+ back fees on the registration due to one of the previous owners forgetting to non-op it. It runs strong, but that is about all it has going for it at this point, its going to need new interior, new driver door, rear passenger window, grille, bumpers, and the hood re-mounted to get it into usable condition, along with a new ignition and lock assembly
Well, if you can afford both then the w126 is at a good price. I just think they're uglyish. I'd would rather have a 123, 124, anything but a 126. And that 126 has the om617 motor. The only reason to have a 126 over a 123 is to get an extra cylinder.
Except of course if it's a really good deal. Just that they are uglyish.
As the owner of a 300SD that has a transmission problem, I'd be hesitant to buy one that the person states has a transmission issue. I have yet to find an affordable route to getting my transmission fixed/replaced. Outside that, I actually like the W126 cars but I grew up in them and just gained an attraction to them over the years.
As for long-wheelbase cars, I would much rather have a turbo w116, but I dont think that is going to happen any time soon. I prefer the look of the w123 over that of the w126 also, but my extra w123 is just sitting and I dont really have time to be fixing it up into great condition since I go to school full time and work also, so if I could get something in better condition to replace it that is affordable and won't require a lot of time/money to get going, then it would be a plus. Also I called the guy and there was no answer so we'll see what happens
$3900 for both 1966 200d and one listed as a 1968 but the last year of the fintail is 1967? The blue one is 4spd and the brown is auto
http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2689849171.html
wow! o.o those are in good condition.
The blue one looks identical to the car I recently took the original Cibie headlamps from.
I have a complete set of seats for these cars, including the center front console part. White, they sit beautifully (cushions have no sag, no broken springs, horsehair has no shredding), only three small tears total. No headrests. The rear seat's frame has a moderate amount of rust and the bench smells like old dog urine, so needs to be steam-cleaned or doused with Lysol. Front seats are in great shape. PM me if interested. I also have the left taillight lens, in excellent condition. Plus an instrument cluster, untested.
Darn if I was closer I would take you up on that offer I have 1963 220s fintail I'm restoring
There is an old 60s MBZ for sale on the side of the road near where I live. I think it is the body style of that blue car above but I honestly did not stop and look at the car. Price on the windshield I recall being something like $2300. Girl at my daughters school drives an old diesel similar to that brown one above.

(11-30-2011, 10:48 PM)garage Because a w123 300D has a om617 just like the w126.Basically, I am saying this. So why get that ugly car when you could have a w123
I though 86-?? had some w126 what had 603
no?

w126 1986-1987 ie 300SDL is the OM603.
And the w126 1990-1992 350SD/SDL is the 3.5 version of the OM603
and late 92-96 w140 300sd where also offered with the om603 as well
The w124 300d came with the om603 87 only and after that they where ether OM602? 2.5 5 cylinders?
1979 Mercedes 6.9 in San Diego
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ctd/2696389173.html
Way too much for that 6.9. And its not even diesel. I would only pay like 2k at most. 8900! That dude must be smoking crack!
the 450sel 6.9's are super rare and can be seen selling in to the mid 20's
It a 6.9 liter v8
That's a 420ci Mercedes over head cam v8 engine
Yea but the amount of gasoline it burns through makes it Ok!
Sooo it gets about 8 mpg??? I dont think I could afford to drive it very regularly but the 6.9 emblem would make it worth while I think!
Funny the ad didn’t say anything about the engine...thats what I would be most concerned about. I’d say 8900 is a fair price....it looks very clean. The best definition of a sleeper in my opinion.
It being a 6.9 doesn't impress me what so ever. Older Mercedes (123 and order) has to be diesel or Im not going to look twice at them.
You guys really dissing a w116 6.9? That's one of the first "performance" Mercedes sedans.
Dry sump, hydro suspension all around, torque monster.
Independent Mercedes shop here in town has a 6.9 sitting in the back. I assume it belongs to one of the mechanics. It is lowered, different wheels and generally just a very agressive stance to it. I seem to recall for awhile after the 6.9 was no more than AMG took them and transplanting them into some of the newer cars. I'd love to have one for a toy but could not see myself ever paying the asking prices for them.
IT DOSNT RUN ON DIESEL FUEL!!
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DRIVE A GASOLINE POWERED VEHICLE??
I WOULD FEEL....WRONG TO SAY THE least.
Im just joking around guys...
kinda..
sorta..
not really..
IT DOSNT RUN ON DIESEL FUEL!!!
Just saying...I would probably give my left nut for a perfect 6.9.
They are just too cool.
It was the fastest production sedan in the world when it was built it could top 140 mph not bad in 1977 with big huge nasty catalytic converters!
All 6.9's had hydraulic suspension so they sit on the ground when not running they are not lowered they just do that naturally!
