I have a chance to buy a nice 1967 200d with a bad engine!!! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

I will probably do it either way!!! But I was curious if my om616 240d engine would bolt up to the 200d trans and engine mounts? with out a lot of modifications?

Is that an om615??? I am under the impression that all I have to do is swap the flywheel and backing plate and engine mount arms? an mod the linkage to IP

to be more specific my 240d turbo engineCool

thanks in advance Will

edit I found out it an OM621 in the 1967 200d how similar is this engine to the OM616 240d 1980 could I mate the engine to the stock transmission in the 1967 200d

my guess is that the flywheel/rear engine plate could be swapped over??? I would like to keep the column shift in tacked!

The OM616 is just a bore and stroke of a 615, they are otherwise pretty much the same engine. Much like the 603.97 was a bore and stroke of a .96

90.9 x 92.4 instead of 87 x 83.6 (87 x 92.4 for the 220D)
