ok the other day as i was awaitg the gaskets for the turbo drain i had the kkk turbo already installed and ready to go on the car. by accident when i sat down on my chair to eat i started my car from the remote start button. luckily my fiance said she heard something running in the driveway. To my surpise when i opend the garage the car had pumped 5 quarts of oil on the pavers below from the turbo drain!! and i shut it down right away.

I changed the oil as it only had 3 quarts in the pan. Is there any way the turbo could be damaged if the car was running for a coupl mintues without the turbo drain on top of the turbo connected?

the kkk makes more noise then the stock turbo i had. is this normal?

If it was sitting at idle it probably wouldn't hurt it but keep an eye on the sound and make sure it doesn't change over time

the turbo doesn't spin very fast at idle so any oil at all should do the job

that line is the turbo feed line the drain is on the bottom

It sounds like a supercharger now but thats only on acceleration and every time i get on the gas pedal.. When im crusing its fine. It just that i never hrard the stock turbo now the kkk sounds like a supercharger whine.

I forgot to mention that this only happens under a load like when im driving. When i have the car idle and give it gas its sound normal like my t3 did. but under a load i get loud whining/screeching sound from the passenger side above the dash.

can you post a recording? also: what kind of intake are you running? is it stock or a open element?

as far as the difference between idle and normal, that is because the turbo doesnt make boost unless it is under load (more exhaust energy to spool it up)

W123 Mods: 4 speed ** manual climate control ** '85 Kalitucky intake ** manual windows & full tint ** Euro headlights retrofit w/bixenon projectors ** 4 brake light mod ** Vogtland 50mm drop front & Lesjofors S600 drop rear springs ** 16" rims ** late w126 brake spindles, rotors & calipers ** full suspension rehab ** Bilstein HDs ** AL129X alternator & 1/0 starter and charging cables ** 300GD clutch/flywheel ** AFCO 80103N radiator & Earl's 41610 oil cooler ** custom block-off plate, remote oil filter & t-stat ** MW IP w/ tomnik's 6.5mm 'Holly' elements **

S124 Mods: 400E Rear subframe ** SL600 Brakes ** Late 300E 210mm diff ** SLK230 6 speed ** 17" CLK rims ** Vented RF Fender ** Facelift Hood, Headlights, and Lower Cladding **
