So I got my new Euro exhaust manifold in today. For those that do not know, the purpose of this over stock is to allow clearance for a larger turbo, as it has more clearance than the stock one found on the 300Ds and the 300TD. I believe it is the 1991-1994 SDs and SDLs that have the one you need. I was fortunate and by happen stance found a euro one which does not have an EGR port, which we all bypass anyhow so with this one I do not need to fabricate a plate to cover it.

Questions:

Is there any sense in me swapping it out BEFORE I get a HX35/40, or should I wait till I get the turbo?

Are there other improvements of this other than clearance for larger turbo?

Either way, will an HX35/40 need an adapter made or will it bolt directly on?

I do plan on intercooling it soon as well. Of course, all of this is after or during me getting the injection pump rebuilt and upgraded by Derv.

Please add in any info that I may need to know. Thanks!

Yes, better turbo response and slightly better economy.

They use a T3 flange, you'll just have to adapt the exhaust, intake, air discharge and oil supply. They also use a T3 drain tube flange so your oil tube should bolt up to it.

I just bought one of these as well and am wondering if i should tap out the egr port and use it for an egt senor or install it after the turbo? Also planning HE341 vnt, what oil feeds might I need?
