After not finding what I was looking for with the search tool, I decided to just post the question. I'm interested in a good used OM617 to drop into my 240D, or possibly a 4wd project I've been toying around with. Anyway, I'm asking for help finding reputable sources for engines and other assorted parts.

Metric motors but it aint cheap. Otherwise maybe car-part.com? There is always craigslist and a compression tester.

On a side note, I do have an extra engine that I can let go if you get desperate and want to pay top dollar Big Grin. But shipping would probably be expensive though.

There's a fellow here in Memphis with several good engines. You don't have to pay top dollar, I've seen good running cars for $500. If you're interested let me know and I'll get you his contact info.
