I usually buy from a local indy supplier, they are a major source for the local repair shops, but they are a little high on some of these items compared to online, which I frequently use to buy parts too.

Where do you buy from and get the best prices?

I am in the market to buy the follwing and want to get the best deal:

1. Timing Chain
2. Chain tensioner and spring
3. Oil pump chain
4. Engine mounts
5. Engine shocks
6. Shock mount kit
7. Trans kickdown cable

All of these parts from Partsgeek are around $550.00

I buy almost all my parts from my local guy. Bart's Parts here in Bakersfield (661) 327-5501. He gets me everything I need OE, for all my German and Japanese vehicles. His prices are always better then the online outfits, but then shipping might make it more.

If I don't use him, I've purchase parts from

RMEuropean.com also has great prices.

ETY Parts in Eagle Rock/Glendale area (323) 254-7442 can price match.
ETYparts.com

autohausAZ.com has good prices

peachparts.com can get some obscure stuff.

buymbparts.biz call for better prices then online.

pelicanparts.com has good selection

Excellent responses!

I have used ETY, very nice people and helpful too.

I have purchased from Germanstar in Arizona, but they just drop ship form the San Fernando Valley.

Rock Auto has some good prices, but Partsgeek had a more extensive online catalog.

The local place I use is Autotech Warehouse, they are on the web also.

1982 300SD: 304,xxx Super M-pump with 7.5mm elements, 265 Nozzles, GT35 water cooled turbo, M90 Supercharger, A/W Intercooler, Serpentine drive belt, 3" SS exhaust with Magnaflow muffler, 240 breather, AEM dry Filter, Manual Boost Control, EGT / Boost / EMP gauges....Moved on to other projects

My 2 are partsgeek and autohaus...

Autohaus has free shipping over $50, but takes a long time to recieve parts. Also you can look up parts by mercedes part number. They also have more items like LubroMoly products such as diesel purge and MOSD2.

Partsgeek has a flat $6.50 shipping and has the around the same prices but ships super fast.

My preference is Partgeek, but Autohaus seems to have more items typically.

That's where I buy 99% of my parts from. It used to be buymbparts.com, but long story short, Rusty is no longer associated with that domain. I can not emphasize enough the importance of calling instead of using the website. Rusty can find almost anything... Excellent customer service. Been using him since 2002.

I wonder if this place is legit.

They have very cheap prices. i.e. 617 IWIS Timing chain $83.60 and Lemfoerder Flex disk for 42.90. Mann Air Filters $12.65.
