Thanks for the thoughts, he is doing well - he also has a severe sprain. He should be fine in a few weeks.

I am going to modify the kick starter by welding a ball on the end to eliminate the sharp edge and spread the force of impact.

Tree on my street-

notice the police caution tape in front here.

Drivers ripped the caution tape and continued to drive underneath this tree hanging on live power lines for 4 days. Also, without fail, they all slowed waaaay down before creeping underneath at about 2 mph, instead of gunning it which seems to me to have been a wiser option if it decided to fall.

We had something similar at my work... It's funny when people who know nothing about computers argue and say "why does the server need a/c?" "We'll just shut it off to save money..... BOOM goes the server" Big Grin

'87 300D Turbo "Roxanne" - #22 head - 400E brakes - EGR Delete - 17" Staggered AMG 5 spoke rims from CLK500 - 5 Spd manual
2007 Chevy 2500HD CCSB Duramax with about 400-500 rwhp depending on the tune I use Big Grin

Its quite simple really. The 200watt power supply in there is basically a 200watt heater. I calculated the other day we have the equivalent of like 1,400 1200watt heaters in the datacenter at work. Thats alot of heaters!

Actually its the states doing he illegal bit by ignoring federal law. Fortunately even in those states the federal side will still prosecute large producers.

The simple fact is nobody gives a rats ass about the "medicinal" application of it, though its been proven not to have any, they just want to get stoned. Recreational drugs are for losers, simple as that.

the US government wastes a hell of a lot of time and money dealing with weed and effectively failing since everybodys kid sister can score a bag down at the 7-11. Legalize it, tax it, regulate it. Uncle sam can get a piece of the weed sales action, and help to control quality as well.

I prefer a lazy stoner over a violent drunk any day. Booze is legal already, weed would not be half as bad. In fact, the pizza and chinese food delivery industry would probably boom.

I have sent my suggestion and economic projection to president Obama.

Your link is to an article which is more about FDA ideological mandates than any real proof. The FDA is an enormous complicated, self contradicting, political bureaucracy. Scientific fact is produced by numerous studies that all agree, not one study that proves an agenda. Here is an excerpt from the article-

The Food and Drug Administration statement directly contradicts a 1999 review by the Institute of Medicine, a part of the National Academy of Sciences, the nation's most prestigious scientific advisory agency. That review found marijuana to be "moderately well suited for particular conditions, such as chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and AIDS wasting."

Dr. John Benson, co-chairman of the Institute of Medicine committee that examined the research into marijuana's effects, said in an interview that the statement on Thursday and the combined review by other agencies were wrong.

The federal government "loves to ignore our report," said Dr. Benson, a professor of internal medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. "They would rather it never happened."

Some scientists and legislators said the agency's statement about marijuana demonstrated that politics had trumped science.

"Unfortunately, this is yet another example of the F.D.A. making pronouncements that seem to be driven more by ideology than by science," said Dr. Jerry Avorn, a medical professor at Harvard Medical School.

Heres another excerpt from the same article, the FDA has approved this based on the medical benefits of marijuana for calming and pain management. Huh, it would appear that the FDA is on both sides of the fence here, depending on the weather.
I don't smoke pot, but its pretty obvious it alters your mood and makes you mellow. Thats a damned useful medical use if you are on chemo or something like that. Gateway drug argument or not, if you have ever seen the amount of pain people can be in in advanced stages of illness, allowing to get them high is a mercy. What do you think morphine does?

GW Pharmaceutical, a British company, has received F.D.A. approval to test a sprayed extract of marijuana in humans. Called Sativex, the drug is made from marijuana and is approved for sale in Canada. Opponents of efforts to legalize marijuana for medicinal uses suggest that marijuana is a so-called gateway drug that often leads users to try more dangerous drugs and to addiction.

As said above, throwing people in jail for this type of stuff simply adds to the burden for the rest of us.

99.999% of the "medicinal users" do it simply to get high. The embarrassing turnout in Boulder on 4/20 and the thousands of "doctors" giving prescriptions to anyone that will pay the $82 fee easily shows that.

Ha ha! So you are saying that these 8000 pot heads all have medicinal prescriptions? Give me a break, probably nearly all of the weed in this "celebration" is illegally obtained.
Hell, I had someone try and sell me some weed door to door last year. The stuff is everywhere.

Just goes to show that no matter how much taxpayer money is pissed down a hole trying to eradicate weed use, annual congregations of people can get together and defy the laws against it. The police and the college just had to let it happen as the article says, what are they gonna do, arrest all 8000 plus people?

Why waste all this time trying to stamp it out like we are doing? If they made it legal, probably the same number of people would be smoking it, and enormous tax revenue would be gained.

Your argument reminds me of people who do not want sex ed taught in high school. Its a joke, kids are gonna have sex, no two ways about it. The only thing that can be controlled is how the information is presented. You might as well tell em about it, and about contraception and VDs, cause then next year 16 year old jack and jill might not be sharing a case of the clap with their newborn.

I don't really like pot smoking since I think its as unhealthy as smoking tobacco and destroys initiative, but its pointless to avoid the hard truth of the situation. People are gonna smoke pot, they will find it illegally with the ease of turning on a light switch. There is medicinal use, but lumping that in with this kind of celebration is kind of unfair. The core issue is that we are trying to regulate something almost impossible to regulate, and that it promotes lawlessness in ordinarily law abiding citizens. Its like a big joke that pot is illegal. Walk into any college in the country and tell me im wrong. The evidence presents itself.
I had a cop landlord who would arrest kids for possession, then go home and light up his own personal joint with his wife. Its just ridiculous.

Look what happened when they repealed prohibition? All the rampant gangster/police violence of the thirties suddenly ended. Thats a lot of time and money that could be put into dealing with truly harmful drugs that cause way more social problems.

It should be legal, at least for medical purpose's. My Grandfather has to smoke it to control neuropathy in his legs, no prescription really works, without him breaking out in hives. If he wants to get high, I don't mind.. I've known a lot of alcoholics and pot heads, and I can tell you which one is less harm to others, most guys who smoke pot tolerance for it is so high that they can smoke and be absolutely normal. Cannaboid's are something that your body already produces some people are even deficient, It grows out of the ground you dry it up and smoke it no different then tobacco. It's been shown to have a significantly lower chance of causing cancer since the cannabis has been shown to contain cancer inhibitors.

Damn anyone who thinks that 43-54% of the population should be incarcerated for something that is against the constitution anyway. Oh yeah they think allowing the government to control inter-state commerce ( originally to stop states imposing tariff's on out-of-state goods the compete with local competition ) they can control and regulate every business and commodity. Ah isn't the poor sight of our country when the Federal Gov. is out of control, well beyond the means of limited government, in some kind of social justice system. Damn the Federal Supreme Court, for not upholding the Commerce Clause or any other Clause for that matter in it's original context.

When they're selling fries made out of hamburgers for $450 it's no wonder they went out of business Tongue

'98 E300 Turbo "Juliette" - Brabus wheels and almost all the options a w210 could have
'87 300D Turbo "Roxanne" - #22 head - 400E brakes - EGR Delete - 17" Staggered AMG 5 spoke rims from CLK500 - 5 Spd manual
2007 Chevy 2500HD CCSB Duramax with about 400-500 rwhp depending on the tune I use Big Grin
1983 300D Silver Exterior/Black inside - Sold and will be missed, may we never meet in a PnP.

The bus driver wasn't the root cause, but if he had kept both hands on the wheel instead of resting one on the farebox, the damage would have been minor. The pickup was able to drive away from the accident (after the police issued him a citation).

I found a bird that hung itself.

Sorry about the picture quality, it was right above a very bright light so the camera wouldn't focus.

Enticing deal!

What the hell is this ricer owner thinking? Shitty rattle-can paint job, bondo cracks all over the place, obligatory fart can exhaust, totally useless wing (even by ricer standards) and wheels that cost twice as much as the car's value. To top it all off, micro sized brakes that look underpowered for a Geo Metro!

This is what happens when somebody doesn't properly torque and secure a spindle nut. Luckily the wheels came off at a low traffic intersection instead of downtown or on the highway, nobody was injured by the bus or loose wheel set and only the bus was damaged.
