Hi All, You might remember I flew o Florida last yr lookin for a 300CD. Finally GOT ONE here in Calif. A 1982, Cream with tan int. Near mint cond. Love it. Anyway, it tops the same but is much quicker to get to 80 from beginning to end over my 1983 300 turbo sedan. I can tell you that the car was special ordered from here and picked up by the owner in Germany, toured, and then shipped here (Calif.) where he kept it in top shape. Now I will do the same. Any reason for why this car seems quicker?? Are the pumps different? Any help would be great. Thanks!

If they're both turbo diesel's then the engines/pumps are the same...

The 300CD may have had the ALDA messed with a little bit. My 300D was pretty slow to accelerate but once I adjusted the ALDA it seems much better.

Where you at in "Nor Cal"? You wouldn't happen to be in the Napa area would you?

'98 E300 Turbo "Juliette" - Brabus wheels and almost all the options a w210 could have
'87 300D Turbo "Roxanne" - #22 head - 400E brakes - EGR Delete - 17" Staggered AMG 5 spoke rims from CLK500 - 5 Spd manual
2007 Chevy 2500HD CCSB Duramax with about 400-500 rwhp depending on the tune I use Big Grin
1983 300D Silver Exterior/Black inside - Sold and will be missed, may we never meet in a PnP.

The engines are identical in design.

Whats likely different is wear on the cylinders and injection pump.
