oel_brenner's W124
oel_brenner's W124
thought I would take a break from the SL and get the paintwork done on my W124 daily driver.
it was a lot of work, but she is painted...

re-assemble, wet sand and buff, and back to work on the W107 diesel.
the grille
blacked out:
or factory:
( and ignore the unpainted trim below the headlights.. still have to paint that )
A black car is one of the few times a blacked out grille looks good.
got the correct size tires up front now 245/40/18
driving and looking much better...

I like the blacked out grill. It looks mean. It sounds like your getting super close to the fenders. I bought a fender rolling tool to fit the 275's on my w123. They were really close and I though I could get away with just putting them on. However, in a drift, the tires would rub like crazy!

Yes, I've heard of it. I've even done it several times. I think there is a cheaper harbor frieght one avalible. After all that work I'm not sure if I could use a baseball bat to do it.
