On the cheap. Any simple and effective ideas? Our transmission is shot but if we can keep it in third most of the time we are good. We are looking for 1-2 second mild propane boost coming out of the corners. Suggestions?

Sounds like you need a solenoid, a bottle, a pressure regulator, and a push-button switch mounted on the gearshift.. or steering wheel? (maybe you could use the horn switch??) I wonder if all the components couldn't be scrounged from a junked propane RV heater?

Need an electronic pressure regulator though. Where can one be sourced from?

Ask lincolnlocker. His DIY setup hasn't blown up yet. The way I would do it, is run a regulator, flashback arrestor, and pressure activated switch to come on around 8 or so PSI. Inject direct into manifold. Just a thought.

'78 300D, OM617.912: 4spd manual, TB03 at 10PSI, 26*BTDC, DV's turned, HVAC, emissions system removed, e-fan, short ram, 3" downpipe to straight exhaust, W126 Bendix brakes, MR2 Spyder seats. 2890lbs

Now your talkin'! I see that you posted up on the local diesel forum here in the northwest about mw pumps. Anyways, it's really simple. If it's just for bursts of power (like mine) all you need is a small regulator, hobbs switch, solenoid, and some sort of orifice. The hobbs switch is adjustable and will only come on when you reach a certain amount of boost. Mine is 4psi. Here are some links to get you started. If you need a regulator or some help let me know. I have a few things kicking around I could donate to the cause.

Also, a weed burner that uses propane will give you enough hose and a fitting for the tank. A welding type regulator will work also for your regulator. (I know this is for lemons so it's on the cheap)
