FS: 334mm Brembo big brake upgrade kit for 124, 129, 201
FS: 334mm Brembo big brake upgrade kit for 124, 129, 201
These are identical to the Silver Arrow brakes except for the color... real Silver Arrows are painted silver front & rear, these are black front and unpainted rears. All four calipers are in very good condition with approx 79kmi on them. Good used pads are available if you want them, but since many folks are picky about what pad compound they use, I assume you may want to just buy new pads of your favorite type.
Rotors are NOT included - I can supply part numbers so you can purchase either solid or drilled rotors from your favorite MB parts vendor. I can also provide OE brake pad part numbers so you can look up the various aftermarket pads available. Rotor sizes are:
Front: 334mm x 32mm
Rear: 300mm x 22mm
These brakes are a bolt-on upgrade for all 1992-1995 400E, 500E, E420, and E500 E-class models; as well as R129 SL-class models from 1990 through 1998, including the 300SL, 500SL, 600SL, SL320, SL500, and SL600. The brakes can be made to fit all other 1986-1995 W124's (E-class) and 1984-1993 W201's (190E/190D) with additional modifications (email me if you need info on this). 17-inch wheels are required to clear the front Brembo calipers, and some models may need trimming of the rear dust shields - again, email me with your exact year/model and I can tell you if any mods are required.
Bekkers sells this exact front brake setup (as a "Stage 3" kit) with new calipers, rotors, and pads for $2098 - just for the front brakes! The StopTech 355mm setup is fabulous but requires 18" wheels, and costs an eye-popping $2500 (again, fronts only). These are the only two commonly available "off the shelf" big-brake options for the W124, R129, and W201 chassis. Get a full set of front AND rear here for literally half the cost of Bekkers or StopTech!
Note: These calipers are the ONLY factory Brembos larger than 300mm which fit correctly on the W124 / R129 / W201 chassis, using factory rotors, hoses, and hardware - with no Mickey-Mouse modifications.
Asking $750. International shipping ok if you pay with PayPal. I will sell the fronts separately if you don't need the rears. I have sold about a dozen of these kits over the past few years, contact me directly for additional photos.
Bump. The previous set is sold, but I have another set available... either fronts only or front + rear.
(11-20-2010, 08:58 AM)Renntag What is the min wheel size required? Assuming the factory wheel may no longer fit in most cases.17" wheels required up front. Factory hydraulic lines retained front & rear.
Will the stock M/C push enough fluid? (I would assume so). Factory flex lines retained?

The V8 M/C (from 400E/500E and most all R129's) works fine... for the 6-cyl 124 MC, you'd have to try it out and see what the pedal feel is like. The two MC's are very close in spec, the V8 version adds 1/16" bore (1" vs 15/16") for the front calipers. More specs are here:
