Can any of you turbo diesel guys be willing to do the valve adjustment or know of any shops that know how to do the valve adjustment in the NY, NJ area.

11-24-2010, 01:03 PM #1i have a 1980 300sd turbo diesel om617 that needs a valve adjustment. i lost the wrenches the last time i did it and would rather have a proffesional adjust them this time around.

.how far from the tappen zee bridge are you. Im in rockland county 20 minutes outside of NYC.
and we have to do this with the engine cold correct?

11-27-2010, 07:19 PM #8Ive done them HOT but you have to set them to a different spec and you have to work fast! And expect to get burned doing it but its more accurate when done that way!
