As the title says, I need an adapter to mount my GT22V turbo to the stock Mercedes manifold. I know some of you guys here have made them before, wondering if anyone has a spare they wouldn't mind selling. Thanks in advance.

I'm making them via waterjet. The dude said $90 for stainless 1/2" thick, I figure it could get a tad cheaper if I went thinner or mild steel or something. And probably cheaper if I make a quantity of them, but I'm not sure what the demand is.

I haven't looked on ebay for a while, but don't remember seeing them. I'll check again. The waterjet one sounds nice, but the price is a bit more than I was hoping to pay. Either way, let me know how the waterjet one turns out. I'm between housing for a bit and don't have the workspace or time to fab one up.

EDIT: forgot to put the "V" at the end of GT22... forgot the regular has a 4 bolt pattern.

I have to mount my Liberty CRD turbo to my 617 powered wagon to give the Myna pump the air it needs. Who has a adaptor for sale so I can start the process? It's not a "22" but a "20" version.

A Liberty turbo won't flow more than the stock T3, but the response difference is fantastic.

Yeah sell the GT2056v to some TDI'er, I would think you would need a GT2359V or a GT2360V to make your Myna pumped engine happy.

Okay someone point me to both the adaptor and the turbo...
ebay has several 2060's as low as $430. I'd still need an adaptor and a control method/mechanism + new exhaust system.

Here is some information for you to digest on the GT2359v or GT2360v.

http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/vnt-...t-235.html

GT2359v can be found on Mercedes e320 CDI but are electronically actuated. Look around - forums, ebay, etc, probably you'll get it from Europe.

GT2360v can be found on US eBay.

As far as adapter, You'll need to make it up yourself.

Yeah I saw that one- but is it really worth the extra (perhaps) $300? over a liberty turbo? Can it be controlled the same way?

You can find Sprinter gt22's for 100-200 every once in a while, usual ebay rules apply (good chance of it being a dud). They can be controlled the same, in fact the older ones come with the pressure actuator attached. Not sure what you meant by "controlled", all these garrett turbos have more or less the same little arm on them.

I believe that particular GT2360V would need the exhaust reclocked. I had messaged that ebay dude and confirmed that it's effectively upside down from on om617's perspective (in terms of oil supply/drain). Or you can just mount it with the exhaust pointing forwards heh.

I think you should go with what you got, and when the opportunity for a cheap bigger turbo comes along jump on it. There was a diagram of the gt20 flange floating around on this forum somewhere but it didn't have any measurements on it though.
Here we go, I found the GT2056v measurements. Didn't find the thread though so I don't remember who made it.

It's really up to you. I think it would be worth it though. From your videos, your putting out a lot of black smoke, a 50 or 55 trim (GT 2359v or GT2360v) would help make it cleaner. For my motor, I think will be going that route instead of the GT2256v that I have.

SurfRodder took the GT2360v apart and will be able to reclock it. So that should be fine.

http://superturbodiesel.com/std/vnt-vgt-...l#pid17982

The GT2256v needs to reclocked to fit one the 617 and I believe the GT2056 also needs to be reclocked.

I've ordered up some exhaust bends from Mcmaster Carr, I'm just going to build a new manifold. Nothing fancy for this one, just a different style log manifold with a GT22V flange. This will be the first manifold I've made, so I'm going to try to keep it simple. If it works, great. If not, then I guess I try again. Smile

82 300SD aka The Flyin Pumpkin (Gone): 7.5mm super M-pump, T3 60 trim turbo, Coldish air intake, A/W intercooler, propane injection, SW Boost and EGT gauges, Monark 265 nozzles, ported/polished cylinder head.

84 Euro 300D 4 sp: White with black trunk and hood. Blue cloth interior. Manual everything. 300DT front swaybar. C320 17" wheels. Now with the Flyin Pumpkins engine!
