MW IP Vacum valve
MW IP Vacum valve
Hi
I have mounted a 617.952 in my 300D. using a 722,4 trans.
As i can remeber with the old engines M IP vacumvalve, It gave much vacum at low throttle and as the throttle rised the vacum got weaker until it gave no vacum at full throttle. Right?
But now the MW IP Vacum valve. it opens more and more as the throttle rises? is this right?
The vacuum valves work identical on the two pumps, they only look different.
I tried a different vacum valve from another mw pump. Both of them seems to be giving the trans much vacuum at full throttle and no vacuum at no throttle. They work opposite to the m-pump vacuum valve. Are the tranny vacuum modulators on the 722,3 and 722,4 working different, like with totally opposite vacuum.. Can somebody help me confirm that this is right?
Nope. Both valves are identical internally in both design and function.
Both are just a spring loaded lever that pushes on a relief valve that allows air into the vacuum system from inside the VCV's body. Turning the throttle changes the spring tension against the arm.
Make sure your linkage is set up correctly and the valve hasn't been altered internally. Can you post a picture?
Hi
its pretty wierd. I tried 2 M and 2 MW and both M and both MW worked. But M and MW worked totally opposite.
Can take pic if u want. The M Ip vacum valve sits on the side of the IP(like the one on the pic you posted) and the MW on the top lid/rear. Can ther be something diffrent from US cars because all this is from euro cars?
Will try to take a pic later today
