What is the difference, and actually is there difference between the IP's of a 603 3.0l and 603 3.5l. engines.
Asking because I am planing a TD engine swap into my vehicle. Purchased a good used OM606TD with 80 K miles on the clock which suppose to arrive some time next month, now I am on the market for mechanical IP. Not planing to go crazy, this is my DD, so stock pump and turbo (for now).
I've seen for sale both IP's - of a 300 and 350, which one to buy Huh
Also if some one has a IP for sale, please let me know.
thanks

Adjustment. The 350 pump will be tuned to deliver more fuel down low but also have the maximum RPM and maximum power lower. Both will top out around 180hp.

Thanks for the fast responses gents. Now lets turn the question this way: which one to buy?

No. Thats with the adjustments at maximum. However the injection duration will be too long (high EGTs) to maintain that power for long.

Since you plan to adjust, it doesn't matter.

Well I am not actually planning to asjust anything, the weak link in my plan is that I have zero knowleges with diesels and also no one around to ask/to be supervized. Thats why I am asking which pump to get for maximum "stock" performance. My goals are the reliablity and MPG since the vehicle is dayly driver/grocery getter.

The 3.5L pump will be more powerful for your engine.

Do you have the original 606 pump, you would probably be fine with that. Then down the road when you want more power you can source a 603 and get it tuned.

Unfortunately it's not that simple -I plan to install OM606 into gasoline powered vehicle; I have the 606 pump but it is electronic controlled one, so no luck here - to make it run I would need the whole donor car, which I dont have, and even if I do have it is not that easy. Unless you know a way to make it work without ECM and harness. Sad
