my question is the 617 you have to use a 4 speed from the 240d. Is the 603 have the same bolt pattern as a 190 diesel or gas? I found a guy that has two for parts one is a 2.2 diesel 5 speed and the other a 2.3 gas 5 speed. will theses bolt up and what about a flywheel can I use the 2.2?
The transmissions are the same. The flywheel from any g@sser or the 2.2L 601 diesel will be far too light for a 603. The 2.5l 602 is still a little light but it will work much better.
so the trans will be strong enough but the flywheel 's weight is to light what about adding weight to it to balance it like you do on a 617 to 240d trans? would like to row my own gears this is the first auto i have owned in a long time and would like a OD trans
Any M102,M103,M104 trans will bolt to any OM60X engine if your looking for the strong ones. The 190E 2.6 & 16V Manual and 300E 3.0 Manual are the strongest manuals you can get for these engines as far as I know. The 16V has a really short ratio so it's not ideal for a diesel engine really unless you play to race on a short circuit.

Any of the transmissions will work. If you want to use the close-5, it won't hurt anything.
A 602 flywheel will be the easiest to find and would be the best compromise. If you go too light you'll lose RPM too quickly between shifts and have much less torque available off the line.
Does anybody know anything about w201 gear shifter adjustment? I've married a 603t with a w201 2.6 gearbox but the gear shifter is not doing much!
Same with all of them. Put the transmission into neutral and adjust the linkage until the shifter is in the correct spot.
My experience is that the linkages are too long paired with a W201 box, I couldn't even get my 16V linkages onto the trans on my car maybe if I adjusted them a little. I know that info on these swaps say 40mm has to be taken out but it could be different with a 2.6 trans.
Thanks guys. Inside the car the gearbox is about 2'' back than it was originaly and the support plate is from the 2.5 16v ,with new holes drilled under the car, in my opinion was the simplest solution .
M10 die set and thread was opened as far it could possibly go, only had to cut 10mm in the biggest linkage, 5mm on the shorter ones and new link rods as 2 of the old ones snapped when coming off.
Did anybody experienced problems with the clutch pedal after putting a om603t & 2.6 manual gearbox?
I've tested the pedal before bleeding the clutchline and the pedal doesn't go down.
I've used 603na flywheel and replacement clutch , tested the spline and compared the pressure plate and seen no difference.
I wonder if the clutch slave cylinder is too long !?

I've taken the slave and gasket out of the gearbox and everything works fine now, once never seen differences with replacement clutch, the problem must be with the primary shaft fork, wich did not worked with the replacement bearing that came with the clutch set , so I've used the original bearing. Apologise my poor technical terminology!
Any hints guys?

The flywheel always needs to be match balanced to the original for the engine (Thats why I've keep the old auto flywheel from my 240's engine for all these years).
The GM finns are using an adapter plate that bolts onto the engine. All the MB transmissions past the mid 80's are a 1-piece aluminum body.
