If you have a w123 or w126, your brake wear indicator cable harnesses are probably cracked, coming apart or completely broken. After a few trips to the yard coming out empty handed, began to think outside the box. With new replacements around 60 bucks each, my first thought was to repair or modify what i have. I happened to be at a pick-a-part and looking at a w124, when something cought my eye. The harnesses were very similar. Same length, same plug connectors and same brake sensor plugs. Only difference is the plastic molding at the caliper on the 124 cable has 2 rubber bungs for retaining clips. The crazy part is, every 124 car had nice great condition harnesses. I believe MB used a poly based sheething on the 124 that lasted longer, instead of rubber used on the 123/126. The retrofit required none other than 1 large zip tie and transfer of the rubber grommet. here's some pics.

The 124 grommet is different and will need to be swapped. Remove connector housing to slip cable through.

Cable harness only reqiures a ziptie to the brake hose. (my 123's were anyways)
