USPS flat rate is $15.50 for up to 70# if it fits in the large box.

not sure about drop off, but pickup is out of the terminal and they call you when its there, they unload it from the bus and stash it at the desk.
deliveryvalve shipped me a PAIR of fenders in one large box through greyhound once. I had to go down and get them from the bus depot, im not sure if he just dropped it off or had to actually load the item on the bus. Im pretty sure you can just drop it at the depot
Only problem with greyhound or amtrak is that "it gets there when it gets there", there is no tracking, and you should be available to pick it up reasonably soon after they call you. In my case, the box these fenders were in filled 1/4 of the tiny bus depot office where they ultimately arrived.
They were desperate for me to get down there ASAP

just scraped my trunk lid, hood, 2 doors, and a file cabinet @$220/ton. Only got $30. I have talked to some guy at freightquote.com he says they will do best at stuff that's big and heavy. I think that flat rate usps will be best, though as mike said the boxes are pretty small

I just took it to the depot, they did all the rest. Before you go, you have to make sure they are equipped to ship out big items. i.e. have a large enough scale, etc. It might be a small station like drop went to.
