Hi,

I've got an musso(ssangyong) These cars used the Om602.910 nonturbo engines from Mercedes. The car was terribly underpower. First step i put an turbo for it but the different was small . The original inline pump have 5,5 element. My bench guy builts only VE pumps. We tried one modified VE pump from mercedes sprinter. It seemed to be good. But it had an problem: terribly noise on idle when the engine is cold. I tried a lot of variation. This takes some time , and now i have the solution, the dual stage injector. The noise is fine at all, and the borderline of smoke is higher.
The transmission is BorgWarner T-5 . In our land ,it is very expensive and uncommon. This is limiting the incrase of torque and power.
Now i have 170Hp and 350Nm on weels without smoke , 1,1bar boost.

Looks kinda dirty (pervert) to see VE pump on a Merc engine Big Grin Interestingly both manifolds are newer (OM604-606) style.

Very interesting about the AAZ injectors finally being useful for something. What all did it take to get the VE pump on there?

They are from E290 TDI. It was simplier way

I thing the dual stage injectors are useful, because the stroke of VE pump is for example 2.45 mm , injection time is much shorter than inline pumps. The engine was very noisy after the starting. And the smoke is reduced

Can you get/tell us the settings/plunger-sizes of this pump?

Which timing device (Engine or pump) did you use??

What is your max RPM on this? It seems that with the VE pump max rpm is an issue. From what I have seen 4200 governor spring is the max?

Nah--Dont worry about the max revs the VE can take....

There's LOADS of Euro engines that have VE's that rev lots more than that!

XUD-9 runs at 5100 as I recall, foldback at 4K6....

Now is 11x2.45 mm.We tried 9x2.54 mm but it was worse.

The timing is adjusted by pump itself.

Its about 5,000rpm. What i know max rpm from VE about 6000rpm, here. (vw).
Now my bench guy building an pump for 606 , and the target is 6000rpm. We'll see.
