I live in Kirkland but I am quite willing to drive a ways. I need to borrow a spring compressor so I can change my front spring pads. Will buy you any non alcoholic 6 pack.... (only 16 yrs old)... Dodgy

You have to be careful using them! IE use safety chains and such so nothing can go flying!

i'm confused what other style you can use on a spring thats fixed in position IN the car... the only two i knew of were the kit with two or three threaded rods with the threaded hooks on each end, and a wall mounted strut spring compressor

There's no replacement for displacement... except for the TURBO IN MY BASEMENT!Big Grin

I've tried to use the crappy "other style", they don't even fit when the spring is on the car, at least on the rear ones. Plate style all the way.

Yeah your car is a fine compressor. Put jack on lower ccontrol arm remove everything attached to lower control arm and let it down onto a jackstand while standing to the side and it will come right out.

Now it's time for beer.
