manifolds?
manifolds?
so i guess if i'm shootn for power/efficency i should address the mani's. so what are the best "bang for buck" mani's? both IN and EX? unless you all have other ideas, like stockers that will flow just as well?
ANY input is appreciated
P.S. how can i have my avatar title changed??? I HAVE TWO TURBO CARS IN MY SIG LOL. im clearly no N/A guy lol.
You have to keep posting
I think there are some good intakes but for exhaust you'll need to weld one up.
I could be wrong, wait for some of these old mbz experts to chime in.
As far as intake manifolds, the best you could get would be the w115 manifold, exaust would be from the turbo models before they started adding the EGR, the 78 and 79 SD.

I have a non egr exhaust manifold and a modified w115 intake manifold on my car.
(06-22-2011, 09:49 PM)dieselboy I have a non egr exhaust manifold and a modified w115 intake manifold on my car. While I have the stronger/better non egr exhaust that is coated- I gotta ask- how much does the long runner intake seem to help?

You can put in a custom title in you user cp
im going to delete the egr with a kit someone sells. are there other benefits to getting the actual non egr manifold?
would i be better off to do a log mani? is there kits for them?
how much to get a modded IN mani like yours?
are there any benefits to be had by P&P these stockers?
Yes, the non EGR exhaust manifold is said to flow better than the EGR version.
The W115 is basically a log manifold and should provide better low end torque
You can get them at the junkyard if your lucky and spot one
so does anyone do log/tube manis for these? i bet your lookin at BIG $$$ since like 12 people in the world mod these lol.

so if you find a nonegr how much would you want for it shipped? so do you think it was not worth getting the 115 mani?
(06-25-2011, 02:30 PM)randomdude so if you find a nonegr how much would you want for it shipped? so do you think it was not worth getting the 115 mani?hi guys, i am running a standard om605 egr ex manifold with the turbo side bored out bigger and i used black iron bends to extend the manifold and welded a flange and mounted the hx35 up front beside the rocker cover. This is a cheap ass manifold and has run 368 hp with 426 ft lb torque.

dieselboy- what about my second Q?
mantahead- VERY nice to hear/know. what were your other modifications? (interals, trans, what size IP element, etc)

[/quote]hi, i have used Toms 7.5mm elements, standard internals, modified 6 cyclinder inlet manifold, 5 puk paddle clutch and welded diff.
could you supply pics of the mani please?
FYI for pictures.

I wish the picture links were fixed.... Moderators?
.
DV- ive read that thread SEVERAL times. i was hoping that mantahead could show us pics of his modified mani.

(07-26-2011, 12:57 PM)randomdudeDid that last link work ok? I'm not that great at this kind of thing. That was the pipe between manifold and hx35. I have a 20mm spacer between this pipe and turbo which is to allow for quick spool valve.(06-25-2011, 02:50 PM)mantahead(06-25-2011, 02:30 PM)randomdude so if you find a nonegr how much would you want for it shipped? so do you think it was not worth getting the 115 mani?hi guys, i am running a standard om605 egr ex manifold with the turbo side bored out bigger and i used black iron bends to extend the manifold and welded a flange and mounted the hx35 up front beside the rocker cover. any pics of they mani you mentioned above?

ok cool, now i gotcha. ya, that worked. ya, i'm not that great at that kind of thing either lol. i'm pretty suprised a stock EX mani supported 426 ftlb's, you think you would gain much from a custom/log manifold?
lots of guys run log mani's on the volvos, i dont see many in the mbz world.

I have a NON-EGR intake manifold from a 1979 300SD, W116. I am willing to sell it for $40 plus shipping. It's light, so shipping should be around $10 or so. I am still lookiing for a W115 intake, however, so that is why I am selling. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.
