Wade Performance Intake Kits
Wade Performance Intake Kits
So I was surfing the web for parts for my 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300SD, and I came across a company called "Wade Performance Products". They manufacture performance air intake kits for different diesel mercedes models. & I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this company before? Is it true performance or just a bunch of money wasting crap? I'd like to hear y'alls opinions. Thanks guys.
This is the url to the company: http://wadeperformanceproducts.com/
meh. on my cobalt yea. i forked over the money for an intake. on the merc with it being forced induction it dosent matter to much.
ill probably just end up putting maybe a small amount of tubing to run pcv and vac lines. but other than that there will be almost no intake.
Just like www.monstercraftsman.net
HOLY HELL! 160 for a fucking tube and filter. yeaa.... ill go make my own for 5 bucks and be happy.
Where is ForcedInduction when you need him?
The stock filter system flows almost 2x what the engine can.
Paper filters > gauze.
Don't use gauze filters on a diesel.

yea. and when you have a good amount of blow by like <-- this guy.
your intake gets seriously dirty. my next mod before anything else is gonna be a dam catch can.
Fuck the catch can. Dump the blowby to the ground and run her HARD!
I had A LOT of blowby and after running her hard almost ALL of it went away. You should be able to find the video in my projects thread. The cap used to try and jump off the VC and now it doesnt even move
Hmmmm... Ill think about it lol
If these kits had some kind of heat shield box that directed air right from the factory intake "Scoop" on the radiator support they would be nice other wise I agree it looks nice but not really worth it...however I did like the exhaust maniflod and turbo heat wrap thats nice!
Enjoy the beauty of well engineered things. Leave it alone. Now, if you are planning on making a full on drag car then an air cleaner should be the last of your worries. Don't ask me how I know.
Once upon a time, an "old-timer" at a Rolex store looked astonished as a customer asked to have his Rolex watch upgraded with a better movement. "I get him now".
If you are doing it for the hobby and personal joy of tinkering around then do what suits you and disregard us all. There is always this HUGE part inside of me that wants to destroy and rearrange things. I am slowly moderating that urge. It has cost me too much money.
I elaborate further that what matters is the joy that u will get out of what you do. If you want a LOUD turbo whistle, then YES do it. No performance gained though.
Just remove the dam fog light for TRUE cold air induction

I have blown up a many motors! 8)
I'm not afraid to push limits or hack cars up. the 1st motor I ever blew up was that of an early Porsche 911, then of a 914! I was 17 then. I'm 31 now.
I'm on the wildside too, the OM617 just does not do that for me, so I will just dial her in propper and learn as much about diesels for when I upgrade to something bigger.
