hello.

on my turbo engine i use the m pump from a NA 300D. I currently run standard 300D NA settings on it.

can the pump from a NA be tuned as much as the turbo ip? what are the drawbacks of running the NA one?

I have googled, but didn't find anything about it.hello.

Same innards, you just don't have the ALDA, only an ADA.

You'll get high altitude correction to limit smoking caused by changes in ambient air pressure, but nothing related to boost.
You can swap an ALDA over if you want to, but it's not required, all you have to do is use the accelerator to keep the smoke in check.

The pumps can be tuned the same.

We turbocharged and intercooled a N/A OM617 27 or 28 years ago and fitted it to a W116 chassis....it was a very sucessful project. We used a Janspeed kit and the engine made abut 140/150bhp. We used the original N/A injector pump...the only change Janspeed instructed us to do was to increase the fuel delivery by 12.5%...A local diesel shop at the time did this and the engine performed magnificently....no smoking issues and great performance....well... great performance in 1983/1984 anyway!

Good thread!

I was thinking about this yesterday at work - wondering if it really was that simple. I have a seemingly good pump on an NA OM606 and that engine/pump is going to be removed to fit a turbo OM606...so I could run the NA pump with the turbo and just crank the pump up. Very cool. Thanks!
