[Image: fishinthegarage013-1.jpg]It's a 1984 w123 300TD. I am the second owner, and I bought it with 145K on the working odo. The car's exterior is "German Army Brown" as I like to call it- (aka anthracite), with a Pinkamino interior. The dash has no cracks and a fabric dash cover. Split rear seats- no headrests. Third seat partially installed, with the rest of the needed items sitting my my garage. It has a very sturdy trailer hitch, and the needed trailer brake wiring/connection already installed. I have not towed anything yet.
I removed the shifter surround from a w115 that is all metal with a chromed exterior and installed it to replace the black standard w123 version. Installed is a zebrawood shifter knob. No ashtray; instead there are VDO boost and EGT gauges surrounded by a semigloss back panel. Soon I will remove the radio for more gauges or items more important than the stock sound system. Vogtland front performance springs are up front along with Boge springs. The stock rotors/calipers have been replaced with gen II w126 units- and w126 15" 15 hole rims with Bridgestone RE009 205/65's. The stock injectors are also gone, and now putting fuel into the cylinders are the AAZ two stage injectors with a set of hessian import 265 nozzles set at 150psi pop pressure. A Blackstone intercooler from a Saab installed in place of the stock air filter housing. You can see this unit in the "engine" section. The exhaust manifold is process coated http://www.processcoatings.com/techinfo_exhaust.html". Gone are the stock headlights- Hella H4 headlights bring much improved night vision. More mods are sure to come as I have time to get them done.

IMHO, you should switch the air pickup locations (filter by radiator and IC at hood). They will both have cold air but the intercooler will have more airflow.

Other than that it looks like a sweet setup!

I deleted the muffler and replaced it with straight pipe. Not much louder, but a but much better sound. More power and sooner with this mod.

I did switch the air intake and IC hoses around, and installed a MYNA pump. New timing chain, torsion bushings and have four sets of wheels that fit the car: the stock bundts, w126 15" flat face, CLK 8 spoke 16" circa 2001 and SLK 8 spoke 16" staggered. Only the w126's have good tires however, so that's the rim on now, painted to match wagon color.

It's an AMG original - but I'd rather have the other one they designed for the w123 wagon. Since I could only find this one, well it's what I have. My interior is pinkamino, and the outside is as close to rust free as you can get-which is why I bought the car. My clear coat is gong bad- so a repaint is in order, but that's low on the list- to do it right will be at least $3000, and I don't have that kind of cash for cosmetics right now. I still have more wicked mechanical stuff to installDodgy

I try and like to make it nice. I can spend time at home around the wife and kids + be working on the car so it's a win/win.

It is a blackstone from a SAAB. The air cleaner is from a GM 3.8 liter- fits nicely. I used some junkyard parts to fit the air ducting over the IC. I can control the EGT's with my right foot, so it works good enough- but I want MORE!!! The wing is gone. Newish front shocks-Bilstein HD's, not the comforts. Euro black cloth interior installed- no more pinkamino, or at least not as much. Paint is faded even more, so I may go to a flat brown as close to the original as possible.

I've had great luck with SEM's "colorcoat" both on my W124's yellowing gray interior parts and my wife's '85 pinkamino wagon-particularly the carpet and door weatherstripping. We took the time to remove all the carpet, pressure wash, do all of SEM's recommended prep, tape off all the stitched coping, buttons, snaps, etc.... It looks great 4 years later after daily driver use an not a soul has guessed that there's been restoration work done.

Your car does look great. I'm surprised at how good the 15 holes look on it. I understand the O.E. 15" 15 holes were Fuchs and were forged, hence the light weight.
