OM606.910 with Eaton M90- How to max out the pes6 55 pump?
Hi guys,

I have mounted a OM606.910 in my w201, and i also have mounted a Eaton M90 on it. It makes about 0.05bars at idle and around 0.8 at 3000-3500rpm.
What do i have to do, to get the maximum out om my stock M pump? The pump has 5.5mm elements.
I have turned the full-load screw ccw 2 rounds, and the same to the coarse idle screw.
The Engine is more powerful, but i dont think i`ve got more than 10hp yet.
So my question is, how many turns can i adjust the full-load screw?
and can i do something with the clock that i have on the top of my IP?
(Looks like an alda)
Is there any other mods i can do?
Best regards Daniel
Find a set of 6mm elements from someone who has upgraded. Also, I don't think the M90 will provide the quantity of boost you may be looking for. Even with 6mm elements, you may only get around 200+ HP.
Either way, your project looks good!
(08-25-2011, 09:01 AM)EDH_Performance So my question is, how many turns can i adjust the full-load screw?
The .910 is the 124 version.
A turbo is on it`s way guys, and also 7mm elements....
BUT in the meanwhile, i want to adjust the pump to give me what the 5.5mm elemenets can give
The pump is NOT electrical controlled!
I have already adjusted the full-load screw CCW 2 turns, i helped, but not more than maybe 10hp... I have 0.8BAR i boost at 3000 rpm, soo plenty of boost is there!
How many turns can i adjust the full-load screw?
Is there some else trick i can do to the pump?

How many psi do you see at 1800RPM?

Quote:4: Now you should have full access to the governor of the pump. To increase the full-load fuel quantity, loosen the jam nut, and turn screw 2f (bottom left) out (CCW). Make careful note of the position of the slot, before & after adjustment. Try 1.5 turns total for the first adjustment, or go in half-turn increments if you don't want to max it out. For the OM617, this will bring power near that of the stock MW-Pump. NOTE: Poor idle quality (1000rpm+ unloaded, 500rpm in gear) is known above 1.75 turns for the OM60x and above 5 turns on the OM61x. 2 turns CCW of the nut 2K (idling auxiliary spring) will restore the idle speeds to normal.
Some info for you http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/Thre...-OM617-952
No one has really fiddled around with the M pump that much yet. I will be doing some tweaking on mine.

I have no poor idle at those rpm`s, the engine is pulling fine from idle to 5800rpm.
The 55 pump can deliver max around 170hp have i read here on this forum. So i hope someone can guide me into what i need to do with the pump. I will try to adjust it a bit more on the full load screw.
Will it help to remove the rack limiter?
(08-26-2011, 07:45 AM)EDH_Performance I have no poor idle at those rpm`s, the engine is pulling fine from idle to 5800rpm.hi, if this is the m pump then you don't have a rack limiter.

I haven`t seen this om616`s guide before today, and that was the best information ever Now I have a MUCH better understanding of how the govenors works! I will play around with my pump now!!
But a question, can I park the car in an angle, so the oil in the IP wil not drain out? Maybe then I can adjust the IP when the engine is running?
Or is it not possible becuase of all the oil spill?
there is not too much oil coming out, maybe 50 ml when you open the back cover. During running the oil isn't actually shooting out it just drops.
(not driving, clear)
You are doing this with the intake removed?
No problem just take care of the air flow from the turbo that sprays slightly oil when reving up (gives you nice oil spots in the face, don't ask why I know).

He can power brake it, the FSM specifies this.
