Lowering a W115
Lowering a W115
ok, so - after my MB M117 engine swap is done, am planning to shave an inch or two of ride height off of my 76 115 240D - does anyone know if 123 springs fit the 115, or if any company makes lowing springs that will fit?
since the springs arent progressive rate, can I cut a coil or two without getting an undesirable setup (I hate the idea of cutting springs, but if its my only option what can I do?)
will the Bilsteins I have in there take the different height ok?
Thanks much
I have cut a coil on W123 springs. 1 coil is about 1 inc. If you can find the stiffest springs they made for the 115 and cut those down.

the 123 had a lot more motors available in it -- the only heavier motors that went into this car were the 2.8L DOHC gas and the L5 (OM617)
- I think it should hold up ok with the 606 springs - it is still an immensely heavy engine.
