Not Mercedes OR diesel lol, but I have a '78 Datsun 280Z my aunt gave me about 6 or 7 years ago and its basically just been sitting since about 1992 or so, and as much as I like driving the Mercedes I think a little more speed and sportiness would be fun once in a while Wink. I know the car had some gas in it when it was parked so removing/replacing the tank is a must, along with all fluids/belts/hoses/etc. but I was just wondering if anybody else has any experience with them and if so is there anything special I should know??

Thanks!

Oh btw the reason she stopped driving it was because she wanted to drive her mercedes more lol

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

I had a 1981 280zx 2+2 back in the early 90's, it was a fun car to drive, not so fun to work on. The forward tilting hood was unique and cool at first but not so great for having to work at the front of the engine. Smooth running engine and light weight made a great combination. I wouldn't mind having another one, when funds allow. I can't remember any specifics that might help you but I wouldn't mind seeing a few pictures when you get some time.

Pictures will come once I take some lol, the main reasons I want to finally fix it up are because it has a 5 speed, it goes faster, 2 seats so no I can't give everybody and their extended family member a ride, and hopefully girls will be more impressed than they are with the mercedes Tongue. Also it would be nice to have an extra ride if I decide to start and then not imediately finish projects with the mercedes

I love the Z cars, oooooh the new ones are a hoot to drive. The faster you go the better they handle. Unfortunately they have more will power than I have self control, thus I can not own one. But I'm not your average chick either . . .

You can't fit many hookers in the boot of a Datsun Z, but you might like this:
