I’m looking at my trans that I pulled out from my 1982 w123, and it looks like the speedo cable won’t fit properly on my donor transmission.
Any ideas?

Does anyone know if the 1983 SD with a 722.3 has a electronic speedo?

Yes. SD's have electronic speedometers. Thats why your speedometer cable will not "fit" in the donor trans. Might be able to swap tail shafts or something to make it work but I'm not sure. I just know that year SD your donor trans came from has electric and your 300D needs a mechanical setup.
