does a K24 from a 6cyl OM603 fit into the space formerly occupied by the T3, air research or K26 on an OM617? the exhaust flange looks to be indentical but since the turbine will be upside down once installed on the OM617 will the oil drain port be within the acceptable angle? any other problems besides fabbing new oil supply and drain lines?

also i am wondering what is the shaft speed (turbo RPMs) of an 84 300sd with OM617 crusing @ 60MPH on a flat interstate on a cool day (60deg f) ? Turbo is an air research T3.

thank you for any advice!

Shaft speed is probly in the 85,000 RPM range (ballpark) You can find out for yourself if you plug in your RPM and Boost here: Turbo Map Calc. Just pick the Garrett T3-45 Trim Compressor

I'd think the exhaust housing should be rotatable independently of the center housing, so the oil feed should not be a problem.
