Are there any "stand alone" VNT/VGT controller options? If possible I'd like to use a VNT/VGT turbo on my OM602 project. Is anything available of the shelf? I'd be willing to use a homebuilt solution (Ardunio, etc) if someone could provide a functional unit. What's out there, anything?

05-01-2012, 02:38 PM #6IMO easiest way to control a VGT is to just run a wastegate to actuate the vanes and run it off of drive pressure. The Fleece controller is awesome but it would probably take a little work to adapt it to work on anything other than the 1998.5-2002 Dodge Cummins. Unless they have came out with a stand alone controller just for the turbo. It's been awhile since I looked at their website.

I had heard some talks awhile back about a stand alone controller coming out for the 12V's, along with one for the 3rd gen 5.9 common rails, but that was the last I had heard of that.
I would imagine with some kind of boost referance and a throttle position signal you could make that stand alone controller work.

If that happens I'm gonna tear this w123 down and attempt to run an HE451VE on her if I can get enough fuel going to her. I'll probably just use a wastegate though and control the thing off of drive pressure. And maybe a pull cable for the EB.
