617 Flywheel bolt pattern
617 Flywheel bolt pattern
I have not been able to find the dolt pattern for the flywheel/flexplate for the 616/617 engine. I need to make up a mount so I can statically balance my flywheel to the flexplate that it is replacing. I can't measure my current setup since both flywheel and flexplate are still in there respective cars. I'm trying to get this swap done over 2 weekend and need to have everything machined and waiting. Anyone have any idea what the pattern is? or the bold hole diameter?
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I can get you some solid measurements tonight my motor is still on the floor. Do you prefer metric or US?

Thanks a bunch. Either would be fine, though I imagine its a nice round metric number.

Found my scratch sheet while cleaning my desk. I have more dims but don't have the time to sketch it out, here's the basics:
The 12 holes measured 10.54mm diameter. Their centers are on a 77.98mm diameter circle. The center hole on my stock auto flywheel was 35.02mm.
Stock flywheel bolts are M10x1.0
The recess on the flywheel for the crank is APPROXIMATELY 60mm, with an APPROXIMATE 5mm recess. I emphasize approximate because I took these dims to make an adapter with a few mm clearance-so be wary or the 60mm/ 5mm dims.
Here's a screenshot of my adapter to a Ford flywheel. Inches are plain [metric has brackets]:

Just you wait! I *might* have access to a 3D scanner. Couple that with the fact that my OM617A is on the floor right now

Awesome, that would be really fantastic if you could get the end of the crank scanned in.
