I was strolling around youtube when I found a video about installing a different fuel plate into the injection pump of a 12V cummins. During the install they removed a part called the AFC (Air Fuel Control: used on 94 - 98 diesels to control fuel rate at low boost). Sounds alot like the ALDA to me. Does anyone know if the MB pump has a fuel plate like this dodge. They are talking about a 125HP increase with a differently ground fuel plate!

Read here: http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/ip-f...t-189.html

An extra 20hp is all the injection pump is capable of flowing from adjusting the fuel settings. If you want another 125hp you need to give Myna a call. Smile

Yeah, I have read all of those things. Just thought maybe something could have been hiding under the ALDA!

Its just an emissions device. The ALDA limits fuel and allows more (up to the full load setting) as boost builds to prevent black smoke.

I am going to pull my ALDA on monday so that I can peak around in there. Not to discount your knowledge Forced, just for my own satisfaction.

The 20mm crush washer from the transmission oil cooler lines happens to make a nice shim for the ALDA.

I have a nice selection of those lying around. Aluminum or copper?

Whatever works. I think the important part was 20mm ed and 17mm id. Might have been more like 17mm and 14mm. This allows the screw to not touch the IP internals at all when all the way out.
